History

Dr. Jean Talleyrand completed his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine and moved to San Francisco in 1995 to complete his residency at UCSF/San Francisco General Hospital Family Practice Program. While completing his residency program, Dr. Talleyrand realized the health benefits of using an integrative approach in improving patients’ health issues.

In 2001, Dr. Talleyrand started a private practice in San Francisco’s Mission District serving patients from some of its poorest communities. Combining compassionate health care, and a formidable drive to heal and serve his community, he quickly found his calling and signature approach to patient care. Dr. Talleyrand began writing evaluations for medical marijuana and encouraged the use of alternative and holistic medicine to ease patient’s pain. After years of serving and evaluating patients for potential medical marijuana treatment, Dr. Talleyrand created MediCann.
