San Francisco CA – June 2007
On June 1st 2007, strict ordinance was to go into effect in San Francisco. This would require all dispensaries to only accept patients who have the state card. If this was to go into effect, it would force city dispensaries to close doors to nearly 75% of patients, denying them safe access to medicine.
MediCann supports a group of patient advocacy organizations that are working with San Francisco city supervisor Ross Mirkarimi to stop this, and get a Patient Care Package into city legislation to further protect patients rights.
San Diego CA – December 2006
San Diego County and the DEA shut down 13 dispensaries. San Diego District Attorney Bonnie M. Dumanis is aggressively fighting Prop 214, and senate bill 420 prioritizing Federal law over State.
MediCann continues to offer safe recommendation for our patients at our San Diego clinic. We are strongly opposed to the San Diego DA’s disregard to state law.
